FEEDBACK WE RECEIVE

Ronny Fossψy – Technical Manager Screen Printing of Avery Dennison, Norway
I have just completed the training screen printing course. I am impressed, just like I should have made it my self.

I am working in Paxar www.paxar.com  and I am in charge of training people for screen printing heat transfer. We have on a regular basis training course in Norway with people from all over the world. And I have an idea of maybe using this course as a part of the 10 day training that we have in Norway.

Tony Whyatt of Lighthouse Display, UK
The course was highly interesting and very relevant. I thought the course was very thorough for the level it was pitched at. The course has made me re-evaluate the way we work and consider ways we can become more efficient and measured in our approach to production.    I am going to recommend that all staff concerned with screen printing take the course. Congratulations, a most excellent resource!

Rick Alexander of Hainsworth , UK
As textile printers we use slightly different methods than shown on the course itself, ie: there is no snap involved, you do not prime the mesh but make multiple passes so the dyes "penetrates into the material to make it long lasting and durable. Slightly different to what was covered in the course work. However I have learned a lot over the past 2 months and feel i can take a lot of the information forward . I finished the final test last night and scored 97% i was pretty chuffed with that.

I have enjoyed the course very much and it has given me some insights into printing which i did not have, really looking forward to the next one.

LATEST REVIEW

GSM Graphic Arts at Thirsk in North Yorkshire have just put two of their screen printers through the course and intend to use this on an ongoing basis for their printers and new employees. This is what Rudi Pearce General Manager has to say about it…

“We recognise the importance of training and found the internet based course a very flexible delivery method of learning. The course provides a vital understanding of the screen printing process. Both printers easily exceeded the challenging 85% pass mark. The effect on staff morale was tremendous, it made them much more confident and they did not stop smiling for weeks when they realised how well they had done in the final exam.”

The photo shows print technicians Marc Allen, 20 and Scott Longstaff, 26 being presented with their certificates at the ceremony carried out by Peter Kiddell President of PRISM and Partner in PDS Consulting authors of the course.

Marc and Scott explained how interesting and useful the course had been . It gave them a complete understanding of the operation of the screen printing process and the knowledge learnt could be applied to their every day work.

Rudi felt that training was such a positive factor in his organisation. In an area where it is difficult to recruit, initiatives such as the e-learning combined with a substantive internal training program is a policy that attracts and retains an excellent workforce . All recruits to the department will work through the e-learning program.

Rudi said “£60.00 for the course was excellent value”. Marc and Scott really enjoyed the challenge. They worked on the course during designated time at work and from their home computers. Scott particularly liked the flexibility it gave him he could login whenever it was convenient and pick up exactly where he left off . He was pleased how it helped develop his IT skills. Marc felt it cemented the knowledge he gained working on the job. He involved his work colleagues in some of the questioning and before he knew it the boss was taking a peek at the course to check some facts.

One thing was clear to Marc and Scott the e-learning course was no pushover, it required a commitment in time and effort but because it was so user friendly learning was a pleasure.
