EXAMPLE OF A STENCIL MAKING TRAINING COURSE
Depending on the equipment in the department and the complexity of the type of images the theoretical seminars would range between half and one and a half days in duration. The seminars can host up to 6 delegates. The topics will be covered in various depths depending on the delegates’ requirements.

Throughout the training the learners will take short tests to ensure that they have fully understood the topic.

THEORETICAL STENCIL MAKING TOPICS

  • Coating stencil types - Hand & automatic coating techniques, controlling stencil thickness & measurement, Rz values, drying.
  • Degreasing mesh - Preparation, new mesh types.
  • Development - Automatic & manual washout, drying.
  • Exposure units and lamp types - Over/under exposure, exposure calculation, effect of heat on image size, image distortion.
  • Finishing & inspection.
  • Measurement instruments - Available and their purpose.
  • Mesh types, mesh selection, and mesh count.
  • Origination - Photopositives, Luscher, direct projection.
  • Origination for Four Colour Process - Alternative systems; hexachrome, geometric, stochastic. Separations, angles, dot shape, moiré, and line ruling.
  • Stencil reclamation.
  • Stretching frames - Equipment types, techniques, tension, angling mesh, frames.

PRACTICAL STENCIL MAKING TOPICS

  • Coating and drying the screen.
  • Controlling the variables.
  • Degreasing the screen.
  • Developing and drying the stencil.
  • Exposing the screen.
  • Finishing and inspecting the stencil.
  • Health & Safety and environmental considerations.

FEE STRUCTURE

DAILY RATES
Our daily rates range £650.00 - £800.00 per day
Hourly rates (minimum 1 hour) £ 100.00 per hour

Travelling per mile £ 0.65
Accommodation and subsistence per Consultant/night £125.00

OVERSEAS TRAVEL
Travelling per consultant per day £250.00
Air or Ferry fares at cost
Inoculations At cost
Accommodation, subsistence & out of pocket expenses extra.

PAYMENT TERMS FOR ALL TRAINING AND CONSULTANCY
Payment of Assessment and Reports - 7 days from receipt of report.
Payment of Training and Consultancy - 7 days from the end of each period.
Payment of Overseas Contracts - 40% with order, 60% 2 weeks prior to travel.
Payment to be made in Pounds Sterling.
All fees exclude VAT.

EXAMPLE COSTING FOR A STENCIL MAKING COURSE
A training programme for the following personnel, in the UK:

2 Stencil Technicians and 1 Supervisor

  • 1 Day Theory (for the group)
  • 1 Day Practical (half day one to one for each technician)

Would cost £1450.00 plus travel and accommodation.
