ARTICLES AND DOCUMENTS
Over the years Peter Kiddell and Carol Swift have written numerous articles that have been published around the world. It is our intention over time to incorporate these technical articles onto this web site. The topics will cover Pad Printing, Screen Printing, Digital Printing, Stencil Making, and a host of other print related topics. These articles will be a rich source of information for practitioners and students alike. New articles will be added monthly so keep coming back to see if the latest article helps to provide solutions or simply to entertain.
All the articles are in PDF format and you will require Adobe Reader. If you do not have this software, you can download a free version using the link below:

SCREEN PRINTING ARTICLES
Screen
Printing is a very flexible and diverse process. No longer is the traditional “Black Art” approach to the subject acceptable. Successful screen printing requires accurate process control and consistent methods. It is much more closely allied to engineering and as such it is moving into areas where the ability to lay down a controlled film of material within a closely defined border is crucial to many manufacturing processes. Graphics and display will always be a key area for the process.
The articles here reflect this change and provide valuable pointers for those involved in the process or new to screen printing.
PAD PRINTING ARTICLES
The
detail contained in these articles has been used by the pad printing industry
as the core understanding for the process. Articles written 10 years
ago have been updated to mirror developments in the process. Current topics
continue the theme of practicality and independence that have made these
writings so popular to industry specialists.
STENCIL MAKING ARTICLES
Stencil making is a very critical element of the screen process but is often treated as the poor relation. If the stencil is made incorrectly it doesn't matter how good your printer is or how sophisticated the press, you will not be able to improve the quality of the print. There are as many variables in stencil making as there are in screen printing.
